Six decisions, in this order: size, wording, font, color, backboard, where it goes. Get the first one right and the rest are easy.
Nothing is built until you approve a scaled drawing, and revisions up to that point are unlimited and free. Your sign is then made and delivered in 7 to 12 days with express shipping, or 18 to 25 days with free shipping. Large or complex pieces sit at the top of that range.
1. Size, which is most of the price
Price follows the physical dimensions of the piece more than anything else, and size is also the decision people most regret. Measure the usable width of the space, not the wall, then aim for the sign to fill about two thirds of it. Above furniture, size it to the furniture instead.
Then tape it out. Mark the dimensions on the wall in painter's tape and leave it a day. It is the only reliable cure for scale, and it takes five minutes.

2. Wording, which cannot be changed later
The tube is bent to your specific letters and bonded to a board cut to their outline, so the wording is permanent. Short wins: names, two or three words, or no words at all.
- ✓ Custom name signs and what fits
- ✓ Why wording cannot be changed later
- ✓ Neon as art, with no words at all
3. Font
Script for names, weddings and anything photographed. Upright for business wording, longer phrases and anything read across a room. You can mix both in one sign at no extra cost, and you can send your own typeface or a drawing.
4. Color
Eighteen tube colors, all the same price. Using several in one sign costs nothing extra. What costs extra is color changing: RGB adds 50 percent, and two color gradient is quoted individually.
| You want | Choose | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Different words in different colors | Multi color, fixed tubes | No extra cost |
| To change color by remote | RGB | Plus 50 percent |
| Two colors blended | Gradient | Quoted individually |
| Just to dim it at night | Any sign | Dimmer included |
5. Backboard
Five cut shapes and twelve stocked finishes, all included, and any other color to order. Clear acrylic cut to the sign outline is the default and it nearly disappears on a wall. Mirror doubles the tube and still looks deliberate switched off. UV printed carries logo detail that tube cannot.

6. Where it goes, and how it gets there
Decide this before you order, not after, because the cable exit position is built into the sign and cannot be moved. Tell us which side your outlet is on.

What actually happens when you order
You send the details. Wording or a logo, a rough size, your date if you have one. No payment at this stage.
We send a scaled drawing with exact dimensions and a firm price, usually within thirty minutes to three hours on a business day.
You approve it. Revisions are unlimited and there is no design fee at any point. Read the wording out letter by letter and get someone else to check it too, because approval is where the wording becomes physical.
We build and ship. 7 to 12 days to your door with express shipping, or 18 to 25 days with free shipping from approval. Large or complex pieces sit at the top of that range. The clock starts at approval, not at order.

Two things separate the people who are happy with their sign from the people who are nearly happy. They taped the size out on the wall before ordering, and they read the wording aloud before approving the drawing. Everything else on this page is detail. Those two are the whole thing.
Design your own sign, or send your wording for a free scaled drawing. Nothing is charged until you have a drawing and a price you have accepted.
Frequently asked questions
How do I order a custom neon sign?
Send your wording or logo, a rough size and your date if you have one. You get a scaled drawing with exact dimensions and a firm price, usually within a few hours on a business day. Revisions are unlimited and free, and nothing is charged or built until you approve it.
How much does a custom neon sign cost?
It depends mostly on the physical size of the piece, since that drives tube length, board area and bending time. Options that add cost are RGB color changing at plus 50 percent and the IP67 outdoor build at about 25 percent. Multiple colors, all five backboard shapes, all twelve finishes and all design work are included.
How long does it take?
7 to 12 days to your door with express shipping, or 18 to 25 days with free shipping counted from when you approve the drawing. Large or complex pieces sit at the top of that range. The clock starts at approval rather than at order, because nothing is built beforehand. Allow at least 35 days if you are working to a fixed date.
Is there a design fee?
No. Drawings and revisions are unlimited and free at every stage, including for logos and hand drawn artwork. You see a scaled proof with a firm price before paying anything.
What comes in the box?
The sign, a UL listed 12V adapter, an in line dimmer, hanging chain, clear cable and the mounting hardware. What is not included is the wall plug, because the right one depends on whether your wall is plasterboard, brick, block, concrete or tile.
What is the warranty?
Two years, covering free repair. Repair rather than replacement is deliberate: a fault is almost always a single component, and replacing that is faster and less wasteful than rebuilding a sign that was made for you.
Can I change my mind after approving the drawing?
Approval starts production, and the tube is bent to your exact letters, so changes after that point are not free and may not be possible. All the flexibility sits before approval, which is why we ask you to check the spelling, the dimensions and the cable exit position carefully at that stage.
We have made neon since 1998, and we still make it ourselves. If something here does not answer your question, ask us.
