Every type of LED neon sign we build

Everything on this page is LED neon: flexible tube, 12V, cool to touch, rated at 50,000 hours. What changes between them is the form, a wall sign, a tabletop piece, a light box, a hanging ring, an animated sign. Start from a ready-made design in one of the collections below, or send your own wording or logo and we will come back with a mockup and a firm price before you pay anything.

There are two routes and they cost differently. A ready-made design has fixed artwork and you choose size, glow and use, which is why it starts lower. A custom sign carries your own wording or logo and starts at 239.99 USD, priced on width and colour count. Neither route charges a design, artwork or revision fee, and revisions are unlimited until you approve. What you cannot do is change the wording on a ready-made design for free, because that is a different product rather than an option.

The smallest letter we can build is 5 cm, so a long phrase needs either a wide sign or a stacked layout. Outdoor builds carry an IP67 rating and have to be specified as outdoor from the start.

Four things worth knowing first

Including the one most sign sites get wrong.

Is LED neon real neon?

No, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. LED neon is a flexible tube of LEDs that imitates the look. Real neon is glass filled with gas. Both are legitimate; they are just different products at different prices.

What size do I need?

Size follows viewing distance, not wall size. Indoors you almost never hit the legibility limit; you hit the manufacturing one. The smallest letter we can build is 5 cm, and that is what really decides how short your wording has to be.

What does custom actually cost?

Custom starts at 239.99 USD, driven by width and colour count rather than by the fact that it is custom. Ready-made designs start lower because the artwork is fixed. There are no design, artwork or revision fees either way.

How does it go on the wall?

Mounting hardware comes with every sign, and at 12V the tube stays cool enough for flower walls, fabric and timber. The thing to check before you order is where your nearest outlet is, not whether the wall can take it.

FAQ

LED neon questions

Are LED neon signs real neon?

No. An LED neon sign is a flexible silicone tube packed with LEDs, shaped to imitate the look of glass neon. Real neon is hand-bent glass tubing filled with gas. We sell both and we are not going to pretend they are the same thing. LED runs on 12V, weighs a fraction as much, will not shatter, and is what almost everything in this collection is. If you specifically want the real thing, we build hand-blown glass neon to order as well.

How much does a custom LED neon sign cost?

Custom signs start at 239.99 USD. The price is driven by how wide the sign is and how many colours it uses, not by the fact that it carries your wording. Ready-made designs start lower because the artwork is fixed, so if a design in one of the collections already says what you want, that is the cheaper route. Either way there are no design, artwork or revision fees, and no cap on revisions before you approve. You can watch the price move as you type in the sign designer.

How small can the letters be?

5 cm, about 2 inches, and that is a manufacturing limit rather than a policy: a 6 mm tube needs roughly that much height to hold a letterform without the strokes running together. It matters more than people expect, because it is what stops a long phrase from fitting on a small sign. A 2 inch letter is still readable from around 60 feet, which is deeper than almost any room, so indoors you are choosing the smallest buildable size rather than the smallest readable one. Our sizing guide works through it properly.

Can they be used outdoors?

Yes, when built to the outdoor specification, which carries an IP67 rating with a test report behind it. Say at the quote stage that the sign is going outside, because the build differs and it cannot be upgraded afterwards. For a permanent storefront sign read from the street, dimensional channel letters are usually the better answer than a neon-style sign, and an exterior illuminated sign normally needs a municipal permit either way.

How long do they last, and what happens if one fails?

The LEDs are rated at 50,000 hours. In practice the tube almost never fails first: the power supply or a connection goes, which is repairable rather than terminal. Our warranty covers free repair rather than replacement, so a fault means the sign gets fixed, not swapped. The troubleshooting guide covers what to check first, and it is usually the adapter.

Do I have to run a cable to it?

Not necessarily. Most signs plug in, but battery powered versions exist precisely for venues that ban trailing cables and wall fixings, and freestanding tabletop pieces need no wall at all. Where a sign does plug in, the thing worth checking before you order is not the wall but the outlet: where it is, and whether you mind seeing the lead. Our mounting guide covers hiding the cable.

Custom LED neon signs, made to order

LED neon is a flexible silicone tube packed with LEDs, bent to shape and mounted on an acrylic backing. It imitates the look of glass neon at a fraction of the weight, runs on 12V, stays cool enough to sit against fabric or a flower wall, and will not shatter if it is knocked. That combination is why it has taken over the decorative sign market almost completely.

Ready-made or custom

A ready-made design has fixed artwork and gives you size, glow and use as options, which is why it starts lower. A custom sign carries your own wording or logo and starts at 239.99 USD, priced on width and colour count. The honest distinction is that changing the wording on a ready-made design is not a free option; it makes the piece a custom build, which is a different and more expensive product. What is genuinely free either way is the design work: no artwork fee, no revision fee, and no cap on revisions before you approve. See what actually moves the price.

Sizing, and the limit nobody mentions

Size follows viewing distance rather than wall size, but indoors the binding constraint is usually not legibility at all. The smallest letter we can build is 5 cm, because a 6 mm tube needs that much height to hold a letterform without the strokes running together, and a 2 inch letter stays readable at roughly 60 feet, which is deeper than almost any room. So the real question is not whether people can read it; it is whether your wording fits above that floor. Long phrases either get a wide sign or get stacked. Our sizing guide covers it with real distances.

LED neon against real glass neon

LED neon is not real neon, and we would rather say so than let you find out later. Real neon is hand-bent glass filled with gas, driven by a transformer, and it has a depth of colour and a presence that LED approximates rather than matches. It is also heavier, fragile, and quoted per project. We build both. If you want the genuine article, start with the difference between the two before you decide.
