A gradient sign blends two of our eighteen tube colors across the piece, permanently. It is not RGB and it does not change.
It is quoted individually rather than sold from the buy box, so it is an enquiry rather than an add to cart. Send us the two colors and your wording and we will price it.
What a gradient actually is
Pick two colors from the standard eighteen. The tube transitions from one to the other across the sign, so a word might start Hot Pink on the left and finish Deep Blue on the right. The blend is built into the tube. It is fixed on the day it is made and it never changes afterwards.
The three options side by side

| Changes after install | No | No | Yes, by remote |
| Price | No extra cost | Quoted individually | Plus 50 percent |

Which pairs work
Gradients read best when the two colors sit near each other on the color wheel, because the blend between them stays clean.
- ✓ Hot Pink into Purple, Blue into Turquoise, Orange into Tomato. Neighbors, so the middle stays attractive.
- ✓ Hot Pink into Deep Blue. Opposite ends, but both are strong enough that the transition reads as deliberate.
- ✗ Anything into Warm White or Light Pink. The pale end loses the fight and the sign looks like it is fading out.
How to order one
Gradient is not in the online customizer and not in the buy box, deliberately. The blend has to be planned against your specific layout, so it is quoted by a person rather than by a price rule.
Send your wording, a rough size, and the two colors you want to the quote form. You will get a scaled drawing showing the blend on your actual letters, with a firm price, before you pay anything.
A gradient is the right choice when you want the sign to feel designed rather than just lit, and you already know it is going somewhere it will be looked at closely. If you are mostly after variety, RGB gives you more of it for a known price. If you just want two colors in one sign, multi color does that for free and looks sharper on short wording.
Frequently asked questions
What is a gradient neon sign?
A sign where the tube blends from one color into another across the piece, using two of our eighteen standard colors. The blend is permanent. It is visible all the time, unlike RGB, where the whole sign shows one color at a time and you switch between them by remote.
How much does a gradient neon sign cost?
It is quoted individually rather than priced from a fixed rule, because the blend has to be planned against your specific wording and size. Send your details to the quote form and you will get a firm price with a scaled drawing before you pay anything.
Can I have more than two colors in the gradient?
Two is what we build. If you want more than two colors in one sign, multi color with fixed tubes gives you as many of the eighteen as you like, and it costs nothing extra. It just looks like distinct colors rather than a blend.
Is a gradient the same as color changing?
No. A gradient is permanent and shows both colors at once. Color changing is RGB: one color at a time across the whole sign, switched by remote, and it adds 50 percent to the price.
Why can I not order a gradient from the product page?
Because the blend depends on your layout. On short wording there is not enough tube length for a blend to develop properly, and we would rather tell you that before you pay than after. A person looks at your design and quotes it.
We have made neon since 1998, and we still make it ourselves. If something here does not answer your question, ask us.
